The annual Vance Family Reunion was held in August at a cabin on the shores of Shadow Mountain Lake in Colorado. We had a great time with our family there! This was Adam's mother's side of the family. We drove 10 hours there and Greyson did awesome in the car. He had only been potty trained a few weeks, but didn't have any accidents. We made lots of stops along the side of the road.
We took Greyson on his first canoe ride. He loved it! His Grandma went with us and held him in the middle of the canoe. We saw an otter, ducks, and geese.
Here we are on the lake. It was such a beautiful area.
Greyson got to go on the speed boat. He is sitting with hi Grandma Bostrom.
We went shopping in the little lakeside side called Grand Lake City. One of the benches had two bears carved into it and Greyson stopped to hug and kiss both.
We had delicious ice cream at a local ice cream shop.
The lake was really cold. The weather was unpredictable too. It was usually storming in the afternoon. I didn't even put on my swim suit, but Adam and Greyson did. Adam showed of his tricks on the wake board.
Great Uncle Michael let Greyson help to drive the boat. His favorite thing was honking the horn.
We had to throw rocks! Greyson had so many willing helpers to gather rocks for him that he was throwing them all week.
We went on a little hike and saw some beautiful water falls, meadows, and streams. This picture doesn't do the area justice. In real life it seemed like it was too beautiful to be real. Someone said it looked like a scene you would find on a digital wallpaper.
Here were the falls that we hiked to. They were called Adam's Falls.
Greyson got to go out on the tube. By the end of the ride he
was leaning into the water and Adam had to hold onto his waist to make
sure he didn't dive in. At one point he was trying to yell to the driver
to honk the horn.
Thanks you to Mormor and Grandpa for helping make the reunion possible. We had a wonderful time visiting with the family and enjoying a week away with everyone.
